Finding Joy in the Here and Now

About This Blog

In June of 2010, I was laid off from my dream job.  Since then I’ve been trying to figure out what I want to do with my life.

This blog began as a chronicle of the struggles and unexpected joys I experienced being self employed and working from home. When I returned to full time employment I thought that was the end of it, but I’ve missed it too much, so here I am again. I’ll be writing about stuff I think is important, or just thoughts I want to share. I hope you like it.

Hi Amanda, as a WP newbie I’m still establishing my voice every day, found your blog and even your “about” page comforting. Thanks for writing.

    • Hi! I haven’t lost one bit of my motivation, and I’m busy making a new “dream job” for myself! You’ll probably go through many career changes in your life, so the important thing is just to try stuff and see what happens. And have fun! Thanks, and good luck to you!

That’s amazing to hear! I think I’m on the right path with writing but that’s such a hard career to pursue. I’ve lost motivation a few times but blogging always helps keep me going.

Your mother is one of the wisest women I have ever had the privilege of knowing. I consider myself greatly blessed to call her friend. I have just discovered your page. I will continue to enjoy it I’m sure!
